Mt Ashland SkiMo is dedicated to promoting and celebrating the backcountry culture in Southern Oregon and the surrounding region.  We are are hosting the Mt Ashland SkiMo Summit, community skimo events (Mon Night SkiMo), and bringing a voice to the community.  

This event is co-founded by Ryan Ghelfi (@ryanghelfi) and Yu Kuwabara (@snowymonk), and with Ryan's move to Idaho, Travis Simpson will be co-directing (@herbaleyes) along with Eric Herron and Pete Wallstrom as advisors. 

Our mission is to create a fun, safe, and inclusive atmosphere to lower the barriers for human powered skiing and snowboarding in our area. As an organization, we aim to provide backcountry etiquette (pick up your doggie poo, don't post hole up the skin track, don't ski above another party, etc) and resources for avalanche safety (Know Before You Go). We also aim to raise the level of SkiMo in Southern Oregon by providing racing and training opportunities.  But mainly, we just want to share the stoke!
